PANTOMIME LESSONS

Doing a pantomime was really a great experience for me. I really enjoyed our pantomime even though I just have minor roles. I became a lampshade, a tissue holder, a street lamp, a curtain and a part of the poor family. After our presentation, we were really happy. I was ready to hear the comments of Ma’am May.

She said that our pantomime was a disaster. The movements of the major characters are exaggerated. But they were able to give justice to the roles that they portrayed. She said that it was really funny but it did not achieve the true meaning of a pantomime. She said that all of us are like Mr. Bean because we looked stupid especially Iris. Ma’am feels uncomfortable with how an innocent girl like Iris dances. She didn’t understand the essence of the bar girls that were meant for the transitions. It was really funny because it is the natural class; it’s III-Nitrogen. She said that if ever our pantomime will be picked for the culminating activity, audiences will never understand it unless they read the synopsis. In a pantomime, there should be few and exact movements, hand gestures and face expressions so that audiences would be able to understand it. Her advice was to change the piece because the story is really tragic but we made it humorous. For me, it’s just okay. Even though we looked stupid, at least, we enjoyed.

WORDS FROM THE PRIEST

Even though I usually go to church every Sunday with my family, most of the time, I don’t listen to the homily of the priest. For the reason that sometimes I am sleepy and I’m not in the mood to listen. But I’m really sorry for behaving that way. One Sunday morning, I attended the Sunday mass and I was really interested. The priest was really good and I enjoyed listening to his homily. The priest’s homily goes somewhat like this.

Usually, we feel empty because we have nothing to eat, drink, etc. Often, we feel empty if we don’t have wealth or money. In return, we really feel happy when we have all those things. But happiness by these material things is just temporary. Sooner or later, it will immediately fly away. So, only God can fill up the emptiness that we experience in our lives. Total happiness, peace and joy can be given by God only. As states in the beatitudes in the Bible, blessed are those who mourn, the peacemakers, the pure in hearts, etc. we are blessed because God is with us. The priest even said that if ever someone asked you “How are you?” answer I’m blessed, instead of I’m fine.

The priest also told a story of a clam. There came a time that a strong storm passed. The clam was covered with sand and its heart was bleeding. Then God said, just wait. The clam waited until it developed a beautiful pearl. The pearl was the prize for believing in God. The clam is just like people. Problems come to our lives and may hurt our heart. But if God will be the center of our hearts, family and mind, we will always be lucky and happy. That is the pearl; the prize. So, God should be the control of our life. We should live the Sunday Eucharist. Let us be together for Him.

LESSONS LEARNED

INFORMAL THEME #2
BLOG #2

The three major values and lessons I learned from Ma’am May are the following:

a.     Friendship.
It really takes time to build trust with someone. Once you broke that trust, sometimes it will never be back again. But through some difficult measures, you could gain it again. She said that our relationship with our classmates is merely companionship. We stay together in laughing matters especially in corny jokes. We are together in going to the canteen and any other places. We are just companions but I still feel that it is friendship.

b.      Confidence and Organization
Last Girl Scout Camping was a really great experience for me. She was a highly organized person. All the thing or documents for the Girl Scouts are inside a portfolio. Even the orienteering was organized. Before the camp, many preparations were needed to make. I was assigned to stage designing. I have to work with Mrs. de Luna. My duty was to talk to many teachers and other persons involved. I was not comfortable with that for I’m usually shy. But I need to, so I learned to be more confident. One instance also is when we performed for the campfire, I need to be confident and it was successful.

c.    Decisions
When making decisions, we should really think for it and the consequences it will create. When we will have wrong decisions, there will be great consequences. I already experienced this. Lately, we backed out for joining the Science Camp. There were some consequences. But she still understood our part and forgave us. I’m really thankful to her. She truly has a good heart. This is one great lesson I learned from her. THANKS A LOT MA'AM MAY...

COLLAGE OF MY PERSONALITY

The shape of my collage is a flower. I chose flower because it somewhat depicts my personality. A flower starts from a bud then it grows into a colorful and beautiful flower. Like a bud, I’m so timid at times but someday I will learn to be more confident and lively.  This is a picture of a girl which represents me. As you can see, the girl is formed through different fingerprints. I can say that these are the fingerprints of all the people that I encountered in my life. They are the people who inspired me, cared for me, loved me, and helped me overcome the difficulties. These people are simply my friends and my family. Family plus friends equals me.

Now, let me talk about friends. Friends are necessities of our life. I can say that friends are like the sun coming up each morning, they’re the ones who we can count on to warm our world and brighten our life. I thank the Lord each day for having them in my life. So now, we should speak our appreciation to our friends.

Now, let me tell something about family. It is in the family that values and lessons in life are learned.  I think one’s family is the most important thing a person has. We can always turn to our family whenever we have problems financially, emotionally and mentally. You will really find undying love and happiness in your family.  I am grateful to our dear Lord for giving me a wonderful family who will always be there for me. We should just always enjoy and value the moments we had with our family.

Now, let me talk about my personality traits. Every person in the world has their own personality traits. Of course, no one could have all the traits because nobody is perfect. A person just has some combinations of personality traits that make a person unique. Let me tell you some of my personality traits. I can say that I am a cheerful girl because I always smile or laugh especially when I’m with my friends. I laugh easily even with corny jokes. I love eating different kinds of food. But even though I eat a lot, I’m still thin. I think I’m still innocent regarding some things in the world.  Sometimes in the class I’m like a joker because I give them some corny and funny jokes.  An alarm does not work for me even how loud it is. Until now when I will go to school, my mother wakes me up. I like planting. When we eat some fruits, I usually get the seeds and plant them. I already planted the seed of melon, suha, tomato and many other fruits. I even planted a ginger and it was the only plant that I planted which survived. I really enjoy planting. Even what your personality is whether it is good or bad; we should just be kind and share the love to all the people around us.

Now, let me talk about my dreams in life. Nothing is bad in dreaming. I want to have an ice cream parlor, candy and chocolate factory.  I also want to study in the University of the Philippines when I go to college. I want to have a family business that can supply enough money for our daily needs. I want to have a cute, small and furry puppy like this in the picture. I want to have my own laptop. I want to travel around the world and visit many famous places. I also want to visit my aunties and uncles in America. I want to know the feeling of riding an airplane. They say it is a good experience because you can see clouds outside the window and even the islands below. I also want to earn lots of money that I can use for my future. I want to have a swimming pool in our house so I can relax and learn how to swim. Like any person, I also have some dislikes. I don’t like cats and big, scary dogs.  I don’t enjoy rides like roller coaster because it makes me dizzy so much. I also don’t like vegetables but I eat few vegetables.

We should just like, accept and help ourselves to have a healthy personality. We should just be grateful to the Lord always and keep our life going.
